Barefoot Rick's Run For Mercy 10K Report - April 21, 2007
I probably had no business racing this week since I just ran my second fastest barefoot marathon the week before, but I gave it the ol' college try! When offered a complimentary registration, I have a hard time turning it down. (Must be the Scotch in me [and no, not the liquor!]). Not my best 10K effort by any means, however I felt that I did pretty good since I was not fully recovered from last Sunday and also that this course is rather hilly.

It was a beautiful sunshiny morning in Shawnee Kansas with light winds blowing from the south and temps in the low 60s. I started off at about an 8 minute pace and then found my groove. Probably could have pushed myself a little harder but then I would have had to shut up and not pester folks along the way! Hah!
My results weren't bad, but they were far from my best.

Overall, it was a fun morning!
Thanks for reading. And, yes, I'm still having a blessed barefoot blast!
