This is the 2nd time I have ran this race. (Two years ago I ran it in 21:02.)It
takes place at 9:15 p.m. so it is dark when the race begins. This was my first
5K race barefoot and my plan was not to hold back but run it flat out. Before
the race, I got to talk to quite a few folks about barefoot running. Several
folks had heard about Soles For Souls since this was a local race.
Not much to say about the race other than it was dark and I couldn't see where I
was planting each foot. Didn't matter though, cause the asphalt was in good
shape except over one bridge where the road was a bit course. Still, it was not
bad and I kept my pace.
There were a lot of speedsters there, so I didn't get an AG award. However, I
feel good about my effort since I ran it faster than 2 years ago with shoes on!
