Lawn Lake Trail Hike - August 3, 2005

A wonderful day for a barefoot hike! It was about 55 degrees with sunny skies when I started up the Lawn Lake Trailhead. The sky was filled with the occassional buzz of a helicopter motor as they continued their search for missing Ranger, Jeff Christensen (see Denver Post article for more). It took me 2.5 hours to hike the stoney 6.3 mile trail up to Lawn Lake and then another 3.5 hours to hike back down. From this experience, I have gained more respect for barefoot hikers, not to mention those who run barefoot on alpine trails such as these!
